How does Myotherapy work for headache?
MUSICIANS
Headaches, including migraines, are commonly caused by myofascial
trigger points in the muscles of the neck and shoulders. Trigger points
are tiny irritable spots in muscles, which come about through injury or
"insult" to the muscle. Trigger points may be formed during birth, from
injuries, illnesses, occupations, sports, or surgery. Once a trigger point
is formed, it may lie dormant for years until it is activated by further injury
or stress. Myotherapy releases the trigger points and "re-educates" the
muscles containing the trigger points to function without causing pain.
